Write When You Need It was founded by Shay Tressa DeSimone, a professional writer and editor with more than 15 years of experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, corporate communications, and traditional and Internet publishing. Her clients and previous employers span a wide range of industries, including consumer goods, retail, foodservice, education, financial services, and high tech.

Shay honed her craft within some of the nation's most respected communication programs. She is graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a Master of Arts in Advertising, and Lock Haven University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with honors. She also completed a Master Certificate in Internet Marketing from the University of San Francisco.

Like most professional writers, Shay has a deep passion for the written word and a love of the English language. She relishes the challenge of taking a rough draft or work order and transforming it into expertly crafted copy that any company would be proud to call its own. Her online portfolio contains dozens of writing samples organized chronologically by company as well as by category, and her résumé covers the highlights of her professional career.

In addition to her freelance writing, editing, and proofreading work, Shay is the editor-in-chief of PR Syndication, which she co-founded in 2011 with Nelson J. Spoto Jr. The company offers affordable press release distribution and writing/editing services to entrepreneurs and small to midsize businesses.
